Cyclists gathers at Overman Park to remember fellow riders who lost their lives while cycling.

The international event reached the Cedar Valley where over 20 crosses represented cyclists who died throughout Iowa.

Treasurer Roger White, says the majority of the deaths represented were from car accidents.

"If you strike a cyclist or a pedestrian you've destroyed two families. Obviously a victim's family, but your own family is going to be disrupted also," White said.

White read a poem before being escorted on an 8-mile silent ride. Suzy Cousin, an avid cycler is here to remember a friend.
