At the Wapsipinicon Country Club April 8, the logo and theme for Anamosa’s RAGBRAI overnight stop July 29 was announced: “Size Matters and We Like it Big.”
“Anamosa is sort of known in the RAGBRAI community for being a fun place to come, and we always come up with fun logos and fun shirts,” RAGBRAI Chair Betty Weimer said.
The theme leans into the city’s history with the GIANT Pumpkin Weigh Off and the popular “God Bless America” sculpture that the funds from RAGBRAI will go toward getting back full time after it left in 2019.
“We just wanted to have fun with it,” Anamosa Chamber of Commerce Executive Director LeeAnna Boone said of the big theme.
Ride Director Dieter Drake was on hand for the kickoff and to introduce the community to the RAGBRAI staff. He thanked the community for coming out for the kickoff, noting it was the fullest room they’d seen so far.
