$5 million COVID relief funding for Iowa Trails approved.
The Iowa Transportation Commission approved a one-time, $5 million allocation of funding to partially offset COVID-19 related reductions in the State Recreational Trails program.
The Iowa Bicycle Coalition workedfor this funding with a letter to the Transportation Commission.
15 miles or moreof trails are possible -- if matching funds or projects like singletrack are submitted.
No matching funds required,but extra points for matching funds in the project budget.
Applications are due on May 17, 2021.
