Monday was filled with meeting after meeting discussing preliminary plans for the arrival of RAGBRAI 2020 in Le Mars on July 17-18.

It was announced at the end of January, that Le Mars was selected to be the host city for the start of the Register’s Annual Great Bike Ride Across Iowa (RAGBRAI) which will be held July 19-25.

RAGBRAI Director Dieter Drake was once again in Le Mars on Monday to meet with the advisory board, executive committee and committee chairs and members to start putting plans into motion.

The day began with a visit to the Plymouth County Fairgrounds, where they were shown the facilities by Rich Benson and Pat Lehner.

“We met at the fairgrounds so they could assess the grounds to see what we could do for our primary campgrounds,” explained Mitch Christoffel, executive committee member. “There needs to be certain areas zoned that we can consider our major campground areas so we are able to fulfill the quantity of people they are expecting.”
