Update from KWWL - The name of a bicyclist killed in an early Sunday morning accident has been released. Police identified Gerrick T. Stotser, 45 from Waterloo as the victim.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is being asked to call the Waterloo Police Department. The accident remains under investigation.

BIKEIOWA NOTE: We hear Gerrick was a seasoned year-round commuter, did not own a car (by choice) and was always well lit. He was hit coming home from work on early Sunday morning. He was father to 5 children. He was a member of the Cedar Falls Bike Pedestrian committee.

We don't condone the use of the word "accident" in this case, but we leave the headlines as written by the news source.
