The Indianola Committee for theRegister's Annual Great BicycleRide AcrossIowa has announced that not only did it raise enough funds to cover the expenses of hosting the bike ride overnight in July, but that leftover revenues will be distributed to area non-profits.
Approximately $22,000 raised by the committee will be spread throughout the community.
The annual statewide cycling eventcame to the community on July 23 for an overnight stop. Among the free services thecommittee provided were concerts and entertainment, hundreds of portable toilets, maps for riders and security.
