A major city park and trail system along Indian Creek in Marion have been closed due to flooding, city officials announced Wednesday.
Thomas Park, located near the intersection of Marion Boulevard and Blairs Ferry Road, will be closed until further notice. Access will be limited to city staff only. Signs have been posted at the entrance.
Boyson Trail, which runs from Boyson Road to near Highway 100, will also be closed to the public until further notice.
Recent rainfall and snow melt has led to flooding along Indian Creek, which has made the closed areas unsafe to the public.
Marion city officials recommend residents avoid any other flooded areas or standing water that may exist.
