The Trestle to Trestle Trail closed on Tuesday, January 8th 2019 install sheet pile between the Des Moines River and the Trestle to Trestle Trail to keep the trail from sloughing off towards the river. Previous attempts to fix the issue have failed.
The project area lies between Sycamore south and the old Bob Lenc location between Des Moines and Johnston.
The trail will be closed before the Tai Village, and routed down Madison to Beaver and north. Detour signs went up up Monday, and the trail closed Tuesday morning.
PLEASE do not ride in the construction zone!
There are a few phases to this project, so there will be alternating times of open and closed through the Spring.
Ultimately, 630 feet of trail will be repaved and it has a completion date of May 15th 2019.
