The Dream Team uses the power of a bicycle to assist youth in developing a positive approach to life’s challenges.
About the Dream Team
The Dream Team started in In 1996 as a concern for disadvantaged youth led a small group of bicycling enthusiasts from RAGBRAI®, Bike World, and the Riverfront YMCA to discuss how they could help inner city kids in Des Moines and provide them the wonderful opportunity to participate in RAGBRAI®.
We need a new Home
The Dream Team and after this season we are losing our bike space at the Wellmark YMCA due to a change in ownership and remodel of the dock area of the Y.
Dream Team is made possible because of the generosity and support of many in this great cycling community. In 2019, we will need a new location to start rides and store the youth’s bicycles. The Downtown YMCA has been an incredible home for many years now and though we will continue to train indoors there, the bike storage space will not be available starting next season.
Our current location is about 30×30 and we are looking for similar sized space.
