Cyclists who completed RAGBRAI in 2011 should be well acquainted with the destination for this year’s dip site in Davenport, Marquette Street boat landing, where the ride ended seven years ago.

Organizers expect more than 15,000 participants on the 46th annual Register’s Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa to roll into town on July 28. Davenport that day also will host thousands of runners, joggers and walkers for the 44th annual Quad-City Times Bix 7 road race.

“We’re a community that has proven multiple times that we can handle that crowd and handle it easily,” Kyle Carter, director of the Downtown Davenport Partnership, said Thursday during a media event, 100 days before #BixBrai.

The final leg of RAGBRAI begins in Iowa City, features 1,585 feet of climb and stretches 68.9 miles to the Quad-Cities. Stops that day include West Liberty, Atalissa, Moscow, Wilton, Wildcat Den State Park, Montpelier and Blue Grass.
