Every piece of the newly refurbished building at 101 Main Street in Bondurant has a story.
The
window shutters are made of recycled and refurbished wood. The stage
that once hosted live bands for school dances is lined with planks from
an old Altoona barn. The visible floor even has a story – the current
owners spent months evicting piles of junk that made its home in the
abandoned Legion hall built in 1948.
But the story doesn't stop
there. The nearly 70-year-old building will now be home to eastern Polk
County's first microbrewery run by four local partners, three members
comprising the management team and one head brewer with nearly 18 years
of experience.
Reclaimed Rails Brewing Company at 101 Main St,
Bondurant, is set to open its doors to the public in late September to
serve its flagship brews made on site. The building will be available to
rent for events and the brewery will serve its craft beer at its bar
and patio area.
