A section of the Cedar River Trail at 42ndStreet NE is scheduled to close beginning June 11.

The project will help realign segments of the Cedar River Trail on portions north and south of42ndStreet.

Other projects in the area includes improvements to the I-380 northbound exit ramp, median work on42ndStreet and traffic signal replacements.

The trail segments north and south of the42ndStreet work site will stay open, but trail traffic seeking a through route will need to take a detour.

Trail traffic will make a connection to the detour at Werner Avenue, which will continue to Center Point Road.

Users will travel on the sidewalk adjacent to Center Point Road, and take a loop at42ndStreet before safely connecting back to Center Point Road. Center Point Road will continue to 29thStreet and then back to the trail.
