A Sioux Center man is injured after being struck by a vehicle while riding a bike.

The Sioux County Sheriffs Offfice said the accident happened Thursday afternoon, 2 miles west of Hospers. 58-year old Kevin Sandbulte was riding a bicycle west on 400th Street. 22-year old Justin Klynsma of Hospers was driving a 2005 GMC Sierra behind Sandbulte.

Klynsma got distracted and the Sierra struck Sandbulte as it was passing him. Sandbulte was taken to the Orange City Hospital for treatment of his injuries. Klynsma was cited for driving unreasonably close to a bicyclist.
