Perry, one of the new towns along the "North Loop" of the Raccoon River Valley Trail, leared it will be an overnight host town for RAGBRAI this summer!

Thousands of cyclists on the Des Moines Register’s big ride across Iowa will stay in Perry on Monday, July 22. RAGBRAI’ers will have two days in the area of the RRVT, although the trail is not expected to be part of the official route.

It will be a huge cycling year in Perry, with the BRR ride just completed and the June 1 grand opening celebration of the RRVT’s north loop!

It was reported that it has been 12 years since Perry hosted an overnight stay by RAGBRAI. The ride from Harlan to Perry will be a long 83 miles. The ride Tuesday on to Des Moines will be about 50 miles.
