Central Iowa - Polk County WHEN: June 29, at 1:30 pm WHERE: Polk County Jail With the July 4 holiday quickly approaching, the number of bicyclists on Iowa’s roadways and trails is expected to increase. The Polk County Sheriff’s Office and Iowa Health Systems want to emphasize the importance of bicycle safety. Therefore, Iowa Health Systems will be providing 50 free children’s bicycle helmets for an event which will be held at the Polk County Jail on Monday, June 29, at 1:30 pm. The helmets are designed to fit children between the ages of 2 and 13 years. With the help of trained staff we will ensure that each helmet properly fits the child who will be wearing it. For this reason, you will need to bring your child with you. Bike helmets will be given on a first-come, first-served basis and we must be confident that all of the 50 helmets fit properly. Be one of the first to arrive because there will be a limited number of each size. Contact: Jana Rooker, Deputy Sheriff E-mail: jana.rooker@polkcountyiowa.gov Office: (515) 323-5459
