Thornton man hurt in car-bike accident

A Thornton man was injured in a car-bicycle accident early
Tuesday afternoon in Thornton.
Willard James Stark III, 22, was taken to Mercy Medical
Center-North Iowa, where he was treated and released,
according to a hospital spokeswoman.
The accident occurred shortly after noon at the intersection
of Third Street and Larch Avenue.
Stark was riding his bicycle south on Third Street when he
failed to stop at a stop sign, according to a press release
from the Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Department.
Stark collided with a car driven by Deborah Zebill, 48,
Clear Lake, who was traveling east on Larch Avenue.
Charges are pending.
