Moline police are looking for the driver of a light blue four-door vehicle that hit a 15-year-old boy on a bike Tuesday. The incident happened at the intersection of 18th Avenue and 18th Street at about 7:20 p.m. Tuesday, said Lt. Jerry Patrick, of the Moline Police Department. The cyclist disobeyed the stop sign and went into the intersection. He was hit by a car traveling eastbound on 18th Ave., Lt. Patrick said. The boy was thrown from the bike and taken by ambulance to Trinity Medical Center's West Campus where he was treated for minor injuries and released. A female passenger got out of the car and looked back before getting back in the car, which was then left the scene. The vehicle may be a 1990s model and could have damage on the right front panel, Lt. Patrick said. "Whether they are at fault or not, they still need to stop," he said. Anyone who knows anything about the accident or the car is asked to call police at 309-762-9500.
