Patrol investigating fatal car-bike collision

WAUKON — The Iowa State Patrol is investigating a car-bicycle collision Saturday afternoon that killed a 16-year-old Waukon boy.
Lewis Palmer, 16, was riding his bicycle east on County Road A52 when a vehicle driven by Nathan Riese, 19, of Waukon attempted to pass Palmer in a no-passing zone, the State Patrol reported.
When Riese saw another car coming in the westbound lane, he pulled back into the eastbound lane and struck the bicycle, the State Patrol reported.
