If you have not signed up for the biweekly BIKEIOWA Ride Reminder, here is what you are missing. You can sign up by looking directly to the left and typing in your email address.

Cooler weather does not mean we stop cycling… In fact, there are 18 rides are listed for this weekend! Will YOU be at one ? Check them out!

I know the Beaverdale fest this weekend in Des Moines is always “the place to ride”. Many cyclists participate in the parade and or the 5k run, plus there are plenty of night time activities, but what do you do all day long in between??? Come celebrate the Des Moines trails and check out the Trail Daze Celebrations going on after the parade. Group rides for all ages and types have been posted to the BIKEIOWA calendar.

October is right around the corner and there are many unique events listed from cyclocross and Alley Cat racing to Charity and weekly training rides to Trail Symposiums & Festivals to Halloween parties! No excuses. Keep on riding!

Check out the list of BIKEIOWA Features going on right now. You don’t have to be a tree-hugger to appreciate The Green Bike Tour that starts on the 21st. Paradise in October ?!? You better believe it! It’s the Dr. Bob Breedlove Memorial Ride on Saturday October 7th.

Beginning in October, BIKEIOWA will no longer receive FREE hosting. BIKEIOWA will however get a discounted rate of $150/month. YIKES! I was a little taken back by the extra cost, but Yes, there are that many cyclists using the site all year long and there is a TON of information on the site. All that traffic consumes bandwidth and bandwidth costs money.
