A little rain wasn't going to stop this crowd from riding for a great cause.
Hundreds of cyclists took to the streets Sunday for the 6th Annual B4 Ride - Bras, Bikes, Bars & Beers, benefiting Bras for the Cause and its efforts to help Iowans access potentially life-saving cancer screenings.
And despite the wet weather, this year's ride was the biggest yet.
More than 400 cyclists participated, marking the largest turnout in the event's history.
The B4 Ride combines bikes, bars, beers and plenty of fun, but behind it all is an important mission. Funds raised help pay for breast and cervical cancer screening tests for Iowans.
One participant summed up why the event continues to bring people back:
“Something keeps me coming back, and it's obviously the mission that we have, so we're making a difference.”
Cancer touches an enormous number of Iowa families, and events like the B4 Ride turn a day on the bike into an opportunity to make a difference for someone else.
400+ cyclists. Rainy skies. One very worthy cause.
Congratulations to Bras for the Cause, the B4 organizers, volunteers, supporters and every cyclist who showed up and rode despite the weather!
