Bettendorf is getting ready to expand its bike trail to the northeast part of the city. Construction begins next week.
Work begins on Middle Road from Hopewell Avenue to Forest Grove Drive as crews build a new recreational trail on the east side of Middle Road.
Due to sewer work, Middle Road will be closed from Hopewell Avenue to Forest Grove Drive for about two weeks. A detour will be in place.
The trail should be finished by the end of October.
