The Friends of the Chichaqua Valley Trail is excited to announce the launch of the 2026 Inaugural Edition of the Chichaqua Valley Trail Passport, a new limited-edition program designed to encourage exploration, support local businesses, and celebrate the communities connected by the Chichaqua Valley Trail.

Officially launching on Saturday, July 11th, 2026 during the annual Hillbilly Bike Ride, the passport program invites cyclists and trail users to explore participating destinations in Bondurant, Mingo, and Baxter throughout the 2026 riding season.

Only 250 copies of the inaugural passport will be printed.

Each passport includes exclusive offers and incentives from 9 participating local businesses along the trail, as well as designated spaces for riders to collect stamp marks at each stop they visit. The program was created to provide an interactive experience that encourages trail users to discover local communities while supporting small businesses throughout the region.

Passports will be available for purchase beginning July 11th during the Hillbilly Bike Ride for $22 each at select locations in Bondurant, Mingo, and Baxter. All passport offers and incentives will remain valid through December 31st, 2026.

“The Chichaqua Valley Trail Passport was created as a fun and engaging way to connect people with the communities that help make this trail system so special,” said Molly Johnson of the Friends of the Chichaqua Valley Trail. “We hope riders will use it as an opportunity to discover local businesses, experience the trail in a new way, and create lasting memories throughout the summer and fall riding season.”

In addition to serving as an interactive trail experience, the inaugural edition passport also acts as a collectible keepsake celebrating the growing cycling and outdoor recreation culture surrounding the Chichaqua Valley Trail.

The Friends of the Chichaqua Valley Trail would also like to extend special thanks to Presenting Sponsor theIowa Bicycle Coalition, along with the program’s local sponsors and participating businesses whose support helped make the inaugural passport initiative possible. Additional sponsors include: Jasper County Economic Development, Polk County Conservation, Baxter Hideout, Benola’s, Somewhere In The Middle Coffee Co., Java Java on Main, Station Street Cycle Shop, BonduBikes, and Bondurant Family Chiropractic.
