If you’re missing a bicycle in Southeast Iowa, now is the time to act.

The Henry County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public to come forward and claim several bicycles that were recovered in rural Mount Pleasant back in July 2025.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, these bikes remain unclaimed - and if they are not identified and picked up by June 1, they will be disposed of.

What to Do if You’re Missing a Bike

If you believe one of the bicycles may be yours, you’ll need to:

  • Contact the Henry County Sheriff’s Office
  • Provide a detailed description of the bike to verify ownership

This could include:

  • Brand and model
  • Color and size
  • Distinct features or accessories
  • Any serial number information (if available)

Don’t Wait

Recovered bikes don’t always make their way back to their owners - often due to lack of reporting, missing serial numbers, or difficulty verifying ownership.

This is a rare opportunity to reconnect riders with their bikes before they’re lost for good.

BIKEIOWA Take

This is a good reminder for all riders:

  • Record your bike’s serial number
  • Take photos of your setup
  • Report stolen bikes promptly

A little preparation can make all the difference if your bike ever goes missing.

If you’re in the Henry County area - or know someone who lost a bike last summer - spread the word.

Time is limited.
