Registration for the 2026 edition of the Register's Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa opens with some good news.

Prices will be unchanged from last year. And this year will mark the return of the ability to sell or hand off wristbands - but now with a secure, online system to eliminate any risk in the process.

Registration for the July 19-25, 2026, ride opens at midnight Saturday, Nov. 15, at ragbrai.com/registration. At the same time, tickets will go on sale for the RAGBRAI route announcement party, where the much-anticipated course of the 53rd annual ride across Iowa will be revealed. The 6-10 p.m. Jan.
24 party will be at Waukee's Vibrant Music Hall.

Without revealing anything about the closely guarded details of the route, RAGBRAI Director Matt Phippen said that no matter where it goes, it will celebrate America and Iowa as the nation marks its 250th anniversary.

"It will showcase rural Iowa," Phippen said. "It will be something that riders will be able to look forward to. ... The towns that we've been talking to are super excited to have the possibility of being on route."
