A group of bicyclists who are on a 3,800-mile charity ride moved through Siouxland on Friday.
The group began their journey five weeks ago at the Atlantic Ocean in Florida and will end in another five weeks at the Pacific Ocean in Oregon.
Participants told KTIV that they are very passionate about this adventure across the country.
“Well, there’s a couple reasons. One reason is this group really likes to ride bicycles,” Support Volunteer Paul Scott said. “And the second is, we are raising money to end substandard housing in the world.”
The money raised through this bike ride goes back to the Fuller Center for Housing, which is a nonprofit that helps people who can’t afford homes or need help repairing them.
“Think about it, you know. We need a place to lay our heads down, we need our families to be in a secure place. To, you know, have nights or their days, you know, where they’re safe and, you know, sound and they can have a good meal and live in a much safer place,” said Volunteer Cyclist Benny Garcia.
