A ribbon cutting ceremony is taking place in Siouxland to celebrate a new part of a large trail system.
The “Iowa Great Lakes Connection Trail” will hold a ribbon cutting and bicycle ride for the Clay County trail, beginning at 5:45 p.m.
Cyclists can either begin at North School Park in Spencer and ride north on the trail to 310th Street or park in the Cooperative Energy parking lot and ride north to the Dickinson County line.
The Clay County trail is just one section of what’s eventually planned to be a paved biking trail running all the way from Okoboji to Des Moines.
