Age 60, Cape Town, Western Cape, South Africa.

THE BIKE: I'll be heading down The Divide on my steel frame Fairlight Holt, hoping the comfort factor outweighs any possible speed factor from my gravel bike. Running a 1x12 drivetrain with a 32T chainring (for the climbs!) I have locally manufactured Csixx Carbon rims and Rekon Race 2.4 tyres.

BAGS: I'm using the Tailfin Aeropack Cargo, and a basic Rockgeist system on my handlebars. My new pride and joy is my SA flag full frame bag and full length top tube bag made by the amazing people @loam_equipment, my first time riding with a full frame bag.

GEAR HIGHLIGHTS: My lighting setup is the K-LITE dynamo system, which I ride everywhere with, and a backup lezyne light should that fail. I finally invested in a proper sleeping bag, so hopefully that will keep me relatively warm in my Alpkit bivvy early on in the race, also very chuffed with my PogieLites from @BIKEIOWA to save my already frostbite-damaged hands.

GPS Device: I'll be using a Wahoo Roam with a Wahoo Bolt as backup with the route downloaded onto my phone (although I have yet to finish a race with a working phone).
