The Helmets 4 Our Kids initiative distributed free bicycle helmets to second graders at several Iowa elementary schools Friday.
The organizers, Crossroads Community Health Foundation & LincolnWay Community Foundation, said the event aims to promote bicycle safety and head injury prevention among young children in rural Clinton County.
Second graders at the following schools received the helmets:
- St. Joseph Elementary - DeWitt, Iowa
- Ekstrand Elementary -DeWitt, Iowa
- Calamus-Wheatland Elementary - Calamus, Iowa
- Delwood Elementary - Delmar, Iowa
- Northeast Elementary - Goose Lake, Iowa
