Multiple agencies were sent to the iconic High Trestle Trail Bridge over the Des Moines River Saturday night after a report of an individual falling into the river from the bridge. The calls were reported at 9:21 p.m. for Boone County Conservation, Boone County Sheriff’s Department, Madrid Fire and the Boone County Hospital Ambulance. Boone County Search and Rescue was called to the scene about a half hour after the initial calls at 9:51 p.m. Sunday afternoon, Search and Rescue posted information on their Facebook page:
At 2151 hours on April 19th, Boone County Search & Rescue was dispatched to the High Trestle Trail to support Madrid Fire and Rescue with a patient who had fallen from the High Trestle Bridge.
Boone County Sheriff’s Office deputies were first on scene and quickly deployed drones to locate the patient, guiding Madrid Fire and Boone County Ambulance crews to the location.
