Gravel riders will get their fill on the Register's Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa with more gravel than ever before — 83 miles, up from 53 in 2024.
It's the second year that RAGBRAI will offer gravel routes on each day of the July ride.
“Gravel is a huge part of cycling culture right now, and we’re excited to showcase some of the nation’s best gravel roads right here in Iowa,” RAGBRAI Director Matt Phippen said in a May 1 news release.
RAGBRAI 52 will trek 406 miles from Orange City to Guttenberg, July 20 to 26. The bike tour also will overnight in Milford, Estherville, Forest City, Iowa Falls, Cedar Falls and Oelwein. It will be the second-shortest RAGBRAI and the sixth-flattest with just 10,487 feet of climb.
