Late August is shaping up to be a great time to be in Des Moines if you love cycling! Check out the Big Creek Road Race on Saturday August 29th!

Des Moines area The weekend kicks off with the Toyota Big Creek Road Race, brought to you by the women of the Bike World/All9yards Cycling Team.

With $1900 in prize money and a great 6 mile rolling country course, the start/finish in beautiful Big Creek State Park (right near the beach... bring the kids!!) - it will be a great race! There will be a 'Women's Beginner' race for women who have raced for less than a year - the open race is for all the fast chicks that have been beating each other up for more than a year. Directions: Race start and registration is just north of Polk City, Iowa on the East side of Big Creek lake in the parking lot near the corner of Big Street State Park Road and NW 142nd Street. Pre Registration: Register online at active.com before midnight on Thurs, August 27th. Race day registration: Opens at 8:00 am. Closes 30 minutes before race start time. Questions?
