Bring a camp brew kit and coffee/tea to brew, or import ready made fuel for your morning/commute. If you don’t have coffee brewing gear we'll have equipment and coffee to share. Come out and learn; we’d love to meet you. Meet-ups are weather dependent: 40F and higher; not raining.
#coffeeoutsidedsm began with a group of metro commuters meeting up to brew and enjoy a coffee on their way to work. It started in late 2017 as "Commuter Dirty Coffee" with an emphasis on off-trail locations and shenanigans riding to work. It has since evolved into our weekly get togethers on Thursdays at 6:30am, at different locations, primarily in the Des Moines metro. The name also became "Coffee Outside Des Moines" along with the broader #coffeeoutside groups turning up in cities around the world.
Des Moines hosts an excellent dedicated bike trail system and on-street bike routes that support commuting within the metro. Whether you’re commuting to a brick and mortar employer or you’re on a commuting ride to your WFH office - the type of commute matters not.
During Bike to Work Week in May Coffee Outside Des Moines will be hosting daily meet-ups. We typically meet weekly on Thursdays. If that hasn’t worked for your schedule now is your chance to get out and enjoy a coffee outside!
