Fox Ridge Filth Ride 2026-A Gravel & Dirt Road Expedition by Bicycle

Sunday, Oct.4 @ 10AM.  20, 30, 40, 62, or 100 Miles

https://bit.ly/FRFR2026

Starts/Ends at Fox Ridge Winery, located northwest of Traer, Iowa. (1465 L Ave, Traer).  *Park in the large mowed lot across the road from the winery - look for the old silo. Coffee time ~9:00*

Back for another foxy, filthy foray into Tama County gravel and dirt roads… piggybacking the ride again off Fox Ridge’s Fall Festival (expected?) date, so there will be food, drinks, live music, and other festivities after your ride. Distances from 20 - 100 miles of gravel and dirt road riding…mixing the routes up with some new and some “classic” FRFR roads. The 30 - 62 mile routes are together until mile 18, and the 40 & 62 mile options are the same until mile 34.

Distance options/routes HERE
*tentative…routes will be confirmed following some final scouting *

20 / 30 Miles - A Taste of Filth (includes 5 miles of B roads on the 20 or 7 miles of B roads on the 30)

40 Miles - Fiesta of Filth (includes 11 miles of B roads)

62 Mile/100K - Fiasco of Filth (includes 15 miles of B roads)

100 Miles - Fear the Filth (includes 22 miles of B roads)

Food/drink options - The 30 mile and longer routes pass through Traer, which has a BP Convenience Store and La Terraza Mexican Grill. The 62 & 100 mile routes have additional towns/options.

The ride semi-officially starts at 10:00 AM (but really, if you want to show up earlier or later and ride, that’s fine...it’s not like there’s any official registration or anything).  However, if doing the 100 mile route, 8AM is the recommended start time, but you do you... It’s not planned as a hike-a-bike or derailleur - destroyer, so with this number of dirt / B roads...it's a dry weather ride. If it's wet/rainy that day or leading up to it, the ride will likely be canceled.

Camping - Closest options for a modern campground are Union Grove State Park or Hickory Hills Park.

Century Riders - Again this year, custom medals (burn-etched wood) for 100 mile finishersIf planning the 100 mile, please message me or send an email with your name and anticipated start time to wolfcreekcycling@gmail.com

If you change your mind later, no worries, but I want a rough idea on the number of “medals” to prepare.
