DRIEDAAGSE Des Moines STAGE RACE
May 12, 13,14

Registration is now open for the Driedaagse. PLEASE feel free to reach out if you have any questions. Attached is the CURRENT FLYER with more details. We will try to have the race bible posted in the next 2 weeks. Most of the race info is available on the flyer, but more detailed info about the jersey competitions and stage info will be in the race bible. This will be a time-based stage race. Racers are welcome to enter individual stages if they cannot enter the entire stage race, but only racers who complete ALL four stages can compete for the overall prizes. If a racer DNFs a stage of the stage race, they will be allowed to continue, but they will be assessed a time penalty. Driedaagse is Flemish/Dutch for “three days” … Driedaagse Des Moines … “Three Days of Des Moines.”

The following categories will be available at the Driedaagse:

Pro/1/2/3
Women’s Pro/Am Open (Pro 1-5)
Category 3/4
Category 4/5
Women’s Category 3/4/5
Masters 35+
Masters 45+
Masters 55+
Juniors 10-14 - juniors will only have a 30min criterium on Sunday
Juniors 15-18 - juniors will only have a 30min criterium on Sunday

The Pro1/2/3 and Women’s Pro/Am Open will compete for Overall GC (yellow jersey), Points (green jersey), KOM/QOM (polka dot jersey), and best U25 (pink jersey). Each group will have over $1500 in prize money on offer across GC, stage and jersey competitions. Winners of the Pro/1/2/3 and Women’s Pro/Am Open will each get a Tissot watch! The rest of the categories will compete for Overall GC and Points. Leaders’ jerseys will be awarded each day to each category!

Juniors: We are huge supporters of junior racing, but unfortunately with the time constraints we had to work with, tough choices had to be made. We didn’t want to completely leave out the juniors so we made room for a junior race on Sunday. We will do podiums in each group for boys and girls. Our goal in the next edition of DDM is to have a juniors stage race.

The stages are as follows:

Stage 1: Water Works TT; 3.1miles. Start time Friday, May 12th at 8:30am
Stage 2: Water Works Criterium. Start time Friday May 12th at 12:05pm.
Stage 3: Army Post Road RR. Start time Saturday May 13th at 8:30am.
Stage 4: Water Works Circuit Race. Start time Sunday May 14th at 8am.
The Official Race HQ will be the Hilton Garden Inn in West Des Moines. A block of rooms has been reserved for race participants. This block of rooms will be available until April 27th; after April 27th rooms at the Hilton Garden Inn are first come first serve. The hotel is centrally located in West Des Moines near several restaurants and shops. The hotel also has a restaurant onsite that serves breakfast and dinner. Registration and the pre-race meeting will take place at the hotel and results will be posted at the hotel.

Endurance Promotions from Minnesota will be providing chip timing for fast and accurate results.

NOTE: We are still sorting out a few details with race distances and start times; DETAILS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE! As we solidify these final details the Bikereg page will be updated and a revised flyer will be sent out.

We’ll see you at the races!
