The Urbandale Police Department reports a bicyclist died during a collision with a vehicle Sunday morning.
At about 7:17 a.m., authorities were called to the 8500 block of Meredith Drive after a serious vehicle crash.
Investigators said a vehicle was traveling east when it struck a bicyclist traveling east on the outside lane closest to the curve.
While first responders attempted life-saving measures, the bicyclist died as a result of their injuries.
The bicyclist has been identified as Eric Christopher Lindberg, 55, of Des Moines.
The Urbandale Police Department is continuing to investigate the crash.

The bicyclist has been identified as 55-year-old Des Moines resident Eric Christoper Lindberg.
The driver of the vehicle was 67-year-old West Des Moines resident Deborah Jackson.
The crash took place in the 8500 block of Meredith Drive.
The bicyclist died at the hospital as a results of injuries sustained in the overtaking crash.
