On-going construction on the Iowa River Trail between Rocky Shore Drive and Clear Creek is causing some trail segments to temporarily close.
The following segments will be closed starting on Wednesday, December 15:
- Clear Creek Trail from 1st Avenue east to the Iowa River Trail.
- Iowa River Trail from Clear Creek to 400 feet south of the Iowa River Pedestrian Bridge.
A sidewalk detour has been made along the east side of 1st Avenue between 5th Street and Clear Creek.
The trail closure and detour route will be in place until June 2021.
The Clear Creek Trail underpass on 1st Avenue, and the Iowa River Pedestrian Bridge connection to the Peninsula Neighborhood in Iowa City will both remain open.
