To accommodate concerns over Iowa's coronavirus outbreak, organizers of the Register's Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa say they are extending the deadline to register for the rideand receive refunds.
The new date will be June 1, a two-month extension from the original date, April 1.
In a poston RAGBRAI's Facebook account, staff said it had spoken with the Iowa Department of Public Health and intends to go forward with the ride, scheduled for July 19-25.
"We will continue to work closely with the IDPH and community officials to ensure we are taking the proper precautions and making decisions that are in the best interest of our riders, communitiesand business partners," staff wrote in the post.
