A Fort Madison man pleaded not guilty Monday in connection to the death of a 14-year-old who died in a bicycle crash earlier this month.
Court records state that Jeremy Gillette, 18, pleaded not guilty to Homicide by Vehicle, a Class C Felony.
Gillette was charged after a bicycle crash on April 1 in Keokuk, Iowa, killed 14-year-old Brandon Fitzgerald.
After an investigation, police found that Fitzgerald was riding his bicycle and holding onto a 2012 Chevy Impala driven by Gillette. As Fitzgerald was being pulled by the Impala, he fell off the bike and landed on the pavement.
