The Bock Family Foundation awarded 23 grants to nonprofit groups in northern Dallas County Wednesday afternoon, giving out $60,084 in their spring grant cycle.
Scott Finneseth, Executive Director of the Bock Foundation, as well as Board member Paul Burrow, presented the checks to individuals representing the different organizations. Among the larger grants presented included: $5,000 to the Perry Area Child Development Center for scholarships; $6,000 to Perry Economic Development to help build a speculative home; $6,500 to Genesis Development for counseling students; and $7,000 to Perry’s Academic, Cultural, and Enrichment Services (PACES) program for the summer learning center program.
The largest grant presented was $7,500 to the Dallas County Conservation Board to further fund phase two of the “Let’s Connect” project to link the Raccoon River Valley Trail in Perry to the High Trestle Trail in Woodward. Since its founding in 2002, the Bock Family Foundation has now awarded more than $1.8 million to local nonprofits. They’ve also given nearly $16,000 in scholarships to students attending the DMACC VanKirk Career Academy over the last four years. The grants are awarded twice a year, in the spring and fall, and the next deadline for grant proposals is September 1st.
