The Iowa State Patrol told KTVO late Tuesday afternoon that the name of the bicyclist killed in Monday night's accident was Brandon Fitzgerald, 14, of Keokuk, Iowa.
A 14-year-old bicyclist has died following an accident involving a bicycle in southeast Iowa.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, the crash happened in Keokuk just before 8 p.m. Monday.
Troopers say the teen victim and a car driven by Jeremy Gillette, 18, of Fort Madison, were both southbound on south 7th street where it intersects with K Street, when the bicycle and car collided.
The impact caused the teen to fall off the bike.
The teen was rushed to the hospital where the bicyclist died from their injuries.
The victim's name is not being released at this time, and the accident remains under investigation.
