Party Ride

Distance - 40 miles

Tour de Skunk ride has moved from June to August to fill the spot vacated by the Pedaler’s Jamboree.  We are keeping in line with the music-themed ride.  Be prepared for a weekend of relaxed bike riding, music, and fun. The trail encompasses a wide range of landscapes, from wooded stretches, prairies, rivers, and farmland. Stop at your convenience at a handful of locations to enjoy live music and entertainment. Bands will play throughout the day in communities across the trail.  This is a ride at your own pace event.

 

Register for this event online by Aug 9th to receive an Official Tour de Skunk Koozie or Join us for the Pre-Registration Party in Mingo on Friday, July 26th, Steak Night with Jana West and Retrospect playing on the patio from 6 pm – 9 pm.

 

Cyclists will meet at the Trailhead in Baxter or Bea’s Place.

Day of Registration at the Trail Head in Baxter starts at 9 AM.  Mosey over to Bea’s Place in Baxter for a morning of music by Paul Michael Davis.  Then meander down the Chichaqua Valley Trail to Mingo for lunch and listen to Nick Ryan jam on the Patio.  Continue on to Bondurant for music by Sara Routh.  Return to Mingo for a night of Bicycle Karaoke on the Patio.

 

This event can be made into a weekend of camping and fun.  Camping available.  Friday Night activities in Mingo include a Steak Night with music by Jordan Beem from 6 pm – 9 pm(12 oz Ribeye or Smoked Chop ($17) -includes Baked Potato, Salad, Baked Beans & all the bread you can eat)  Sunday activities in Mingo include Chichaqua Valley Trail – Sunday Funday with music by the Zellmer Brothers starting from 2 pm – 5 pm.  Choose your overnight choice and join us for a great weekend.

A PRE-REGISTRED cyclist will receive an Official Tour de Skunk Koozie, raffle tickets for prizes, 3 towns of music and a chance at several $25 bike shop gift cards.

100% of registration profits will go to Camp Sunnyside.  Camp Sunnyside is an organization which serves special needs children of Polk and surrounding counties.   

Pre-registering will save a rider $5.00.

The 40-mile bike ride will be on the Chichaqua Valley Trail starting in Baxter and include Ira, Mingo, Valeria and Bondurant.
