Per Raccoon River Facebook post on Tuesday September 2nd.

Damage on the Raccoon River Valley Trail in Guthrie County from the storm Sunday night, Aug. 31, is extensive, according to Joe Hanner, the Guthrie County Conservation director and trail manager. In fact, the RRVT is now CLOSED between the town of Herndon and the Guthrie-Greene County line.

"We had a staff member out Sunday who moved 35 to 40 downed trees off the trail (from just north of Linden to Herndon), but when he got to Herndon, then he found a real mess," Hanner said."And what we call the trail's 'County Line Bridge' (over Greenbrier Creek on the north edge of Guthrie County) had a big tree come right down on it. The bridge railing is crushed. We're hoping now that the structure under the bridge is not damaged."

Hanner guessed the trail would need to be closed between Herndon and the county line "for about three days, but we'll let everybody know as soon as we can."
