Route
Saturday morning, August 17, the ride begins in Keosauqua City Park. You will then head up the Pittsburg hill to Lebanon, on to our Amish and Mennonite communities of Milton and Cantril. Enjoy a memorable visit to the Wickfield Farm Sales Pavilion ("the old round barn"). Restoration continues on this unique historical structure which will be hosting an open house with tours and refreshments for all. Be sure to check out this ole barn with a very "colorful" past. Bike west along Hwy. 2, and then down to the village of Mt. Sterling to wet your whistle. You’ll then loop into Missouri and onward to the oldest village of Farmington and then head back to Keosauqua for a restful evening. Approximately 72 miles for Saturday’s ride.
Day Two, the riders will experience the riverboat era villages of Bentonsport and Bonaparte, and then to our youngest village of Stockport. You will wind your way through the beautiful countryside to Birmingham and then on to Douds, then through the Amish community of Lebanon, and on to Pittsburg to experience a breathtaking view of the river valley below, you’ll conclude the day back in Keosauqua. Approximately 60 miles for Sundays journey. The routes will also have optional short cuts clearly marked.
