  • Great Cyclo de Mayo Ride!!! Our family had a wonderful time.

  • My wife & I left the house at 5:00 this morning on our bikes for Bike to Work Week - that is a beautiful part of the day for biking! Quiet! Please keep the rain away tomorrow.....

  • WOW, I love it. I can't believe the number of bikes I counted this AM, everybody is out here in Ames.

  • I commuted today and it was 14 minutes from driveway to back door of work. It takes just as long some mornings to drive…

  • My spring commutes to work are very serene. I enjoy seeing the sun rise over the river while riding the trails along the Raccoon River. I have seen lots of wildlife including deer, turkey, cormorants, geese, ducks, rabbits, squirrels, and more avian friends than I could mention. It is a great way to start my day with exercise. I like when I can take bike trails to work but that isn't always accessible. I do ride on the highway, streets, and bike trails and bike lanes when possible. With gas prices so high it can really cut down on my weekly gas bill by riding to work. It does increase my food consumption and a bit higher price at the grocery store. I think more people should enjoy the commute to work. I am glad to see more people interested in bike riding and more awareness for sharing the road with bikers.

  • Top Ten Reason Why I Love to Commute by D. Piper

    1. People ask me if I own a car.
    2. Helmets are cool.
    3. Better than a cup of coffee for an AM wakeup.
    4. Arrive at work READY to work.
    5. Front door parking
    6. If I’m late for work and ride fast, I won’t get a speeding ticket because I can’t ride THAT fast.
    7. My neighborhood knows me as “That biker guy”.
    8. If I own them, might as well ride them.
    9. One less car on the road.
    10. One more bike on the road.
