  Federal, state, and city policy makers will be riding to kick off the work week. The number of riders demonstrates to them how many of us are watching and listening and demanding safer bicycles facilities.

• Celebrity Bike, Bus & Car Challenge [Des Moines] (results)
  Gambling is strictly regulated by state law. Commuter Challenge organizers will not be responsible for any loss of weight, smiles, or friends you make. All participants are encouraged to follow all state and local laws.

  Get up early and join the Central Iowa Trails Association (CITA) for a heart pounding mountain bike ride in the morning before work. This ride is not for tea and crumpets.

  Join us at 6:30 PM at the New Historical Building in the East Village and ride to honor those who have been injured or killed while bicycling the nation’s roadways.

• Ride of Silence [Mason City]
  Meet at 7:00 PM at Central Park in Mason City to honor those who have been injured or killed while bicycling the nation’s roadways.



• Ride in with LIVESTRONG [Marion]
  RIDE in to the Marion City Square Park between 4:30 and 7:30 p.m. for a rally for cancer. At this event there will be family activities, live music, and information about the Lance Armstrong Foundation. This is an official LAF event.

• Bike to Work Day [Statewide] (results)
  Today is the official Bike to Work Day. We hope you have been riding all week long in preparation for this day. Check out the free breakfasts, showers and staging locations. Staging locations are for camaraderie, commuting with friends, and creating a group of cyclists for visibility. Today five lucky registered riders will win a total of $1,000 in “Bike Bucks.” Awards will also be announced for the Bicycle Club and Employer with the most registered riders. Watch for details about the Commuter of the Year Award!
