In August of 2017, the Iowa City City Council adopted a formal five-year bicycle master plan. The plan included various ways to help make the streets and community safer for bicycle riders and the vehicles they share the road with.
"It basically details the way that the city can be more friendly or accommodating to bicycles and pedestrians, it lays the plan out very clearly." Anne Duggan, the president of www.thinkbicycles.org says.
