The Waverly Police Department confirms a woman was flown to Iowa City after a bicycle accident in Waverly yesterday evening.
They say the accident involving two bicyclists happened around 8:20 p.m. on the Waverly Rail, not far from 39th Street.
The woman who was injured struck the back tire of another bicyclist.
Police say she was wearing a helmet, but she suffered severe injuries and was taken to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. AirCare was used.
The woman's condition is not known at this time.
