UPDATE: 7-year-old Boston Asby is recovering after being hit by an SUV while riding his bicycle.

The crash happened yesterday afternoon.

"When I pulled up he was laying there in the road and it's just not something a parent should ever have to see honestly it, it killed me," says Ron Asby, Boston's dad.

Boston was air lifted to the hospital but 15 stitches and a handful of hours later he was able to go home.

"It doesn't always end up the way it did for us so we are thankful," Asbysays.

Now he is urging other parents to teach their children about crosswalks.

"When you're walking to school you always have a crossing guard across busy streets like that, you don't have to push the buttonyou don't have to do any of that and I think that a lot of kids just don't really know how," Asby told us.

Boston says he pushed the button on the crosswalk.

"He pressed the button but he says he got back on his bike and for a seven-year-old getting back on your bike takes a minute it takes a couple seconds," says Asby.

He tells us there are no fingers to point when it comes to the woman who hit Boston.

"There's no blame. We are thankful for her, she was there, she was the one that did it and she was there to hold him until the EMT's arrived," Asby says.
