B Holland of Decorah has been awarded the contract for repairs to the Dug Road section of the Trout Run Trail on the west side of the city near the Decorah Campground.

A public hearing on the project that involves Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) funding was held by the Decorah City Council Monday night. The Council approved JB Holland’s bid of $203,744. Also bidding was Skyline Construction of Decorah, $213,950. City Engineer Lindsay Erdman’s estimate for the project was $259,065.

A portion of the trail collapsed after flooding Aug. 20, 2016, and city staff members have been working with FEMA on proposed solutions since then.
