Cars, pedestrians and cyclists will be able to use the new Dubuque St. lanes and trail starting on Thursday, Nov. 2.

The Iowa City Public Works Department announced Tuesday that all Dubuque St. traffic will move to the new, southbound lanes from Mayflower Residence Hall to Park Rd. This will free up the northbound lanes for construction and elevation, eliminating the need for the crossover at Mayflower’s south end.

Bikers and walkers will be encouraged to use the new Iowa River Trail between Foster Rd. and Park Rd. Pedestrians hoping to access Mayflower or the surrounding residences may cross at the crosswalk protected by temporary traffic signals.
